Dr Fowler studied animal science and animal physiology at the Universities of Reading and Leeds. He spent his working life in the UK Scientific Civil Service, as a part-time lecturer at the University of Aberdeen, and a visiting professor at the University of Illinois. He has authored or co-authored more than 250 scientific papers and many books, including two on the development of farm animals.
He is also a strong believer in the Christian God.
There will be an opportunity for questions from the audience at the end of his lecture.
